Junior DevOps and IT Support

To work with the development team to migrate current build nodes to latest development tools and promote DevOps culture across VSNi global group. To deliver our digital analytics using exposure to cloud solutions and understanding and application of technologies such as Node.js.

Location: UK office in Hemel Hempstead

The role

  • Designing and implementing different components required for the VSNi development pipeline
  • Configuration management in Linux environments; primarily through Docker images
  • Solving complex, multi-system problems
  • Promoting a DevOps culture across the global development teams
  • Work closely with small development and IT teams to align targets
  • Hands on with AWS infrastructure maintenance


  • Administration of our Jenkins based continuous-integration system
  • Administration of a cross-platform build nodes, utilising Linux, MacOS, Windows, Cloud and containerised systems
  • Working with our infrastructure/operations team to help document infrastructure changes and ensure successful deployments occur in production
  • Provide input to technical author to write and maintain documentation of our build & release processes
  • Assist IT team with maintenance and support for the VSNi global teams

Skills and competencies

  • Experience using Linux and competent using Windows
  • Experience using version control – GIT / SVN
  • Competent using Javascript
  • Basic level skills or experience with build configuration tools, preferably CMake
  • Basic level skills or experience with virtualisation technologies (Docker, Hyper-V)
  • Basic level skills or experience with construction and maintaining application servers
  • Basic level skills or experience with Jenkins or similar build automation technology.
  • An understanding of DevOps methodologies and practices.
  • Leadership and responsibility, ability to work under pressure
  • Able to travel and work in a multi-cultural environment
