ASReml-W a new improved windows client to run ASReml
ASReml-S an add-in module to run ASReml in S-plus
ASReml-R an add-in module to run ASReml in R
Expanded ANOVA options
The Analysis of Variance table has been expanded to optionally include a conditional Wald F-statistic and in most cases, denominator degrees of freedom can be calculated allowing significance testing of the F-statistics.
Command line features
Ability to generate a template .as from command line.
New command line options.
Field Definition qualifiers
No limit on storage of alphabetic factor labels.
Ability to sort factor levels.
Ability to read data and time fields.
New transformations.
Pedigree and GIV files
New .grm file extension can be used to supply an univerted matrix in sparse format which will be automatically inverted by ASReml.
More efficient formation of the A-matrix (substantial reduction in time forming the matrix if many animals without progeny).
New pedigree processing options.
Reading Data
Columns or rows can be combined from different files.
Datafile line qualifiers
Datafile line qualifiers may also be defined using an environment variable.
Linear Model Specification
Includes facilities for fitting the family of Generalized Linear Models.
Facilities for fitting Generalized Linear Mixed Models.
New Model terms available
Predict
Can control the order of terms within the prediction table.
Facility to plot predictions.
Variance structures
Autoregressive models have been extended to include AR3 and SAR2.
The Matern class of isotropic covariance models is now available.
Output
Plot of the Residuals vs Predicted values is added to the .res file with other residual statistics.
A variogram is now reported for non-regular spatial data residuals.
