The following limits apply to the size of data within a GenStat spreadsheet.
The maximum number of sheets or pages in a GenStat book is a user defined limit between 20 and 4000,
which can be set on the Spreadsheet Options, Books tab.
If the specified limit of pages is reached, GenStat will start adding subsequent pages
to a new book.
The maximum number of columns in a GenStat spreadsheet is a user defined limit between 250 and 16000,
which can be set on the Spreadsheet Options, File tab.
GenStat will not read in more columns from any data source than the specified limit.
The only limit to the number of rows in a GenStat spreadsheet is the amount of memory available on the computer.
The maximum number of characters for a factor label in GenStat is 60. Reading cells into a factor that contains
text longer than this amount will result in the labels being truncated. If two groups factor labels are
the same for the first 60 characters, then this can result in these two groups being amalgamated into
a single group.
The maximum text length in GenStat is a user defined limit between 90 and 10000, which can be set on
the Spreadsheet Options, Conversions tab.
Texts read from any data source which are longer than the specified limit will be truncated.
