Colour Cells in a Spreadsheet
See Also
This menu can be used to set the foreground and background colours for the selected cells in a spreadsheet. This menu enables you to highlight potential outliers or other important values within a spreadsheet. The default colours for the selected cells can be set in the Fonts tab of the Options menu. Any coloured cell information is saved when the spreadsheet is saved as a GenStat spreadsheet file (GSH and GWB formats) and the colouring is reapplied when the file is reopened. Cells can be selected to be coloured using the Select menu. Note that any coloured cells will retain their colouring with row and column operations such as sorting, insertion and deletion, and can be removed or reapplied using the Undo/Redo menu items.

Only colour cells included by current restriction/filter

If a restriction/filter has been applied to the spreadsheet, then this option will be enabled, and when selected only the cells in rows which are included in the filtered rows will be coloured. Note that any cells in rows that are excluded will not be coloured. Restrictions in a spreadsheet can be set using the Restrict/Filter Menu.

Text Colour

The foreground colour used to display the text within the cell. The drop down list displays the standard GenStat colours, and the User defined entry can be used to select any colour from the Windows palette. If the User defined entry has been selected you can click on the User defined button to select the colour from the standard Windows colour palette.

Background Colour

The colour used to colour background of the cell. The drop down list displays the standard GenStat colours, and the User defined entry can be used to select any colour in the Windows palette. If the User defined entry has been selected you can click on the User defined button to select the colour from the standard Windows colour palette.

When the cells are being coloured by a factor (i.e. the last 3 items Change Cell Colours list) this will be a list of the factors in the spreadsheet with background colours. If a column already uses a factor for cell colours, selecting <None> will turn off the cell colouring.
