Graphics Wizard - Data (Trellis)
See Also
This menu is used for entering the data for a trellis plot, which is a rectangular array of plots each presenting a particular graph for a particular subset of the data. For each subset of data you can draw histograms, boxplots or scatter plots. Once the data have been selected you can draw the graph by clicking on the Finish button or, alternatively, additional options and axis settings can be set by clicking on the Next button.

Method for Plotting

Specify which form the data are to be plotted by selecting the appropriate method for plotting. You can select from Scatter Plot, Histogram or Boxplot.

Select Y-Values

Specifies the y-values of the data to be plotted. Select the name of the identifier for the coordinates from the list of available variates and factors. When an identifier is selected the name will then be entered into the Y Data list in the Data Currently Selected for Plotting section. Alternatively, type the name of the identifier in directly and press return to enter it in the list.

Select Scatter Method (Scatter Method Only)

For a Trellis plot using the scatter plot method you can specify which form the data are to be plotted by selecting the appropriate scatter method. You can select from Point, Line or Mean. The selected method will be shown in the Method list.

X Values (Scatter Method Only)

Allows you to specify the x-values to plot the y-values against for a scatter plot. Select the name of the identifier containing the x-values from the available list of variates and factors. Alternatively, you can type the name of the identifier in the space provided.

Groups for Frames

A factor to specify how the data are to be divided into separate plots. A separate plot is drawn for each level of the factor.

Groups within Frames

A factor used together with the Groups for Frames factor to specify how the data are to be divided into separate plots. A separate plot is drawn for each combination of the factor levels.
