This menu is used for specifying data for a 2D Scatter/Line plot. Once the
data have been selected you can draw the graph by clicking on the Finish
button, alternatively, additional options and axis settings can be set by
clicking on the Next button.
Type of plot
You can specify how your data is formatted by selecting the appropriate type
of plot. You can select from:
Single XY
Multiple X & Single Y
Multiple Y & Single X
Paired XY
Select Y
Specifies the y-coordinates of the points to be plotted. Select the name of the identifier for the coordinates
from the list of available variates and factors. When an identifier is selected the name will then be entered
into the Y Data list in the Data Currently Selected for Plotting section. Alternatively,
type the name of the identifier in directly and press return to enter it in the list.
Select X
Specifies the x-coordinates of the points to be plotted. Select the name of the identifier for the coordinates
from the list of available variates and factors. When an identifier is selected the name will then be entered
into the X Data list in the Data Currently Selected for Plotting section. Alternatively,
type the name of the identifier in directly and press return to enter it in the list.
Select Grouping Factor
This can be used to specify a factor indicating that the points are partitioned into different groups. The groups will
then be identified on the plot by using different GenStat pens (where the pen number is given by the corresponding level
of the factor). As a result, different colours will be used for units belonging to different groups. Select the grouping
factor from the list available. When selected the name will appear in the Groups list in the Data Currently
Selected for Plotting section. Alternatively, type the name of the grouping factor in directly and press return to select it.
