|Spam ruins bulletins boards and drives away genuine posters. We've seen a massive increase in the attempts to post spam on our boards - it is not unusual for us to have upwards of 1,000 attempts in a day!
So we took the decision to change to a manual process to activate new users who register for the forums which prevents the spambots auto-registering and posting spam.
The downside is there can be a delay between a user registering and being activated - but we believe this is the only way to keep our boards spam free.
It also helps if you can register with an organisation email address, rather than a hotmail or gmail address.
We hope you agree, and can be a little patient if your registration is delayed.
