Stewart is responsible for the commercial development and operation of VSNi, with emphasis on strategic issues and commercial agreements. Stewart is also responsible for VSNi’s finances and administration. Stewart has previously held senior finance positions in the IT industry, and has most recently several years’ experience of developing international operations within the scientific software industry (particularly although not exclusively in the Asian/Far-Eastern markets). He has a finance degree and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Roger is responsible for the technological delivery and development of VSNi’s products and services, and for ensuring that the scientific expertise (both in-house and third party) within our disposal is of the highest standards. He also acts as our primary liaison with the worldwide statistical community, utilising his wide personal and professional contact network. Roger has extensive experience of pioneering statistical computing, consulting and research. He has a degree in mathematics, diploma in mathematical statistics (with distinction) and a Ph.D. from University of Cambridge, and is a Chartered Statistician of the Royal Statistical Society. In addition to serving on the committees of many statistical societies he holds a visiting professorship at Liverpool John Moores University and a special lectureship at University of Nottingham.
James (Jim) has successfully built Maplesoft into the world’s premier advanced mathematics, modeling and simulation software provider and brings over 20 years of experience in corporate management of advanced technology business ventures to his role at VSNi.
Prior to joining Maplesoft, Jim co-owned WESCAM, the highly successful manufacturer of gyro-stabilized camera pods used extensively in both the security and entertainment industries. In addition, he successfully started and developed Puppetworks.com, makers of motion capture devices for the 3D animation industry. Jim has held senior positions with a number of high technology companies. He was Worldwide Director for Intelligent Networks with Sema Wireless Group; Divisional Manager at Alias-Wavefront, a world renowned 3D graphics company; and Development Manager at CAE, makers of advanced aircraft flight simulators.
Jim graduated on the Dean’s honor list from the University of Waterloo in 1980 with a Bachelor’s of Engineering and started his career as a control engineer, developing advanced control systems for aircraft flight simulators.
