Requesting/registering an ASReml license key for a Windows stand alone PC

Problem

How to register and request a license key for an ASReml 2 or 3 for Windows stand alone PC

Solution

Please could you download ASReml from www.vsni.co.uk , if not already done so. Once downloaded, open up the ASRemlW.exe file which should be found in C:\program files\<asreml folder>\bin. A start up menu screen should appear with an option to ‘register for key’.

Select the ‘register for key’ button and select either of the following options: register online, save registration or register later.

Register online – Allows you to register via the web and receive a license key by return email. Simply supply your details requested by the registration wizard. The wizard will then gather the machine specific information VSNi needs to generate a license key for your PC. Click on the ‘Submit request’ button and an email will be sent to VSNi automatically.

Save registration – If your PC is not connected to the internet then this option allows you to submit the file later by email. Simply supply your details requested by the registration wizard. On the final wizard menu specify where to save the file. Once you have chosen a file, click on the finish button. You can then send this file to VSNi when it is convenient for you.

If you wish to register the software later, click on the ‘Register Later’ button. This allows you to use the software in trial mode for up to 30 days before registering.

You should receive a license key via email within approximately 48 hours.
